Right now, I'm loving Bruug. That's not a typo which should say Bruges (or Brugge if you're a Dutch speaker), although I love Bruges as well. A picturesque city with chocolate, waffles and a Christmas shop, what's not to love? Anyway, I digress...
Back to Bruug.
If I've confused you, let me explain. Bruug is a new Perth based label designed by the gorgeous Natasha Butler. Much of the press concerning her label's launch has made mention of her being wife to a West Coast Eagles player. While the press and media attention from this is no doubt invaluable, Tash is determined to not ride these on coattails and have her label be seen and appreciated in its own right. If her designs to date are anything to go by, she's doing a great job of it.
Her vision for the label is to provide good quality 'go to' pieces, which don't carry an exorbitant price tag. For now, the colour palette is centered around quite neutral tones of white, cream, black and navy. The fabrics are leather, line and super soft cotton. The cuts are classic but not boring. Many pieces are easily translatable from work to play, day to night.
Currently, the Bruug boutique is located in Carillion City and purchases can also be made through the website. If you can, go in and see and feel the pieces for yourself. Try them on, and you may even bump into Tash, who you'll find to be very warm and friendly.
She tells me that shipments are received every two weeks, so that in combination with small quantities of each design it's assuring to know that there's a constant flow of fresh, new designs that every second woman in Perth is not going to be wearing. With the very reasonable price points (many of the pieces range from $30 to $80), it also won't blow out your budget if you wish to pick up a new piece every couple of weeks.
So far I have picked up for myself the Anarchy wedges, made in a plum leather with a statement buckle around the ankle, and the Black Widow lace top which is just too gorgeous. It comes lined so no need for a camisole underneath. I can't wait for the rain to subside so I can wear these wedges out!
I'm looking forward to seeing what is to come in addition to the pieces making up the Spring/Summer range. Tash tells me prints will feature - that excites me!
